 Sorbalgon is a soft gelling calcium alginate dressing, composed of soft, textile fibres of calcium alginate. When it comes into contact with wound exudate Sorbalgon forms a gel by exchanging calcium ions the dressing for sodium ions from the exudate. - Sorbalgon is highly absorbent and suitable for use on moderate to highly exuding wounds. - Sorbalgon has excellent dry and wet integrity Contraindications: Wounds with nil or low exudate

Sorbalgon is made of calcium alginate fibers which form a hydrophilic non-adherent gel in contact with the sodium salts contained in blood and wound exudate. The gel-forming properties promote the wound healing process.

For the treatment of external wounds of all kinds, but especially suitable for the treatment of bleeding and secreting wounds, as the formation of a gel accelerates the healing process of wounds. Suitable for use in abscesses, boils, burns and difficult to treat wounds in accidents, tumor operations and more.
